Tyree goes under the knife

 
Super Bowl hero David Tyree had surgery on his right knee last week and might not be ready for the start of training camp in July. Tyree, who made the miraculous catch that saved the Giants’ Super Bowl-winning drive, hobbled into the locker room today on crutches with a huge brace on his right knee. He said a few weeks ago his knee “just kind of locked up on him,” apparently during one of his offseason workouts. Then he had an MRI, which he said revealed some “stuff that didn’t look good.” Tyree was light on the details, but it is believed he tore his meniscus, at least partially. One team source said the surgery was not the result of anything major or damage to one of his ligaments. Still, though Tyree said “I’ll be 100 percent for the start of training camp,” that apparently is a little more wishful thinking than anything else.
