U.S. to open World Cup qualifying in California (AP)

 
The United States will play its first home qualifier for the 2010 World Cup at Carson, Calif., on June 15 against Barbados or Dominica. The second-leg of the home-and-home, total-goals series will be played the following weekend in the Caribbean. The winner advances to a semifinal group likely to include Cuba, Guatemala, and Trinidad and Tobago. [link]
