We're late in the third round of the NFL draft and UConn has already had four players selected - one, RB Donald Brown, in the first round (27 to Indianapolis) - and three more, CB Darius Butler (41 to New England), OT William Beatty (60 to the Giants) and DE Cody Brown (63 to Arizona), in the second.
All told, nine Big East players went in the first two rounds. The others include C Eric Wood of Louisville (28 to Buffalo), WR Kenny Britt of Rutgers (30 in first round to Tennessee), Pat White of West Virginia (who was taken as a wideout by Miami with the 44th pick), DE Connor Barwin of Cincinnati (46 to Houston) and RB LeSean McCoy of Pitt (53 to Philadelphia).
In reverence to the late John Salvo, who was a huge USC fan, here is where the Trojans went:
1. QB Mark Sanchez (5, Jets); 2. OLB Brian Cushing (15, Houston); 3. OLB Clay Matthews (26, Green Bay); 4. ILB Rey Maualuga (38, Cincinnati); 5. DT Fili Moala (56, Indianapolis); 6. WR Patrick Turner (87, Miami).
