UMBC (and NYU, too!) make Final Four

RALEIGH, N.C. - There were still a lot of UMBC fans - that’s University of Maryland-Baltimore County - in the bars last night. Late last night. And even though they were pounded by Georgetown, 66-47, yesterday in their first-ever NCAA Tournament experience, they all still seemed surprisingly upbeat. At first I thought it was just the beer kicking in, but then I got the word that UMBC had actually reached the Final Four! That’s right, the Retrievers are going dancing, and they won’t even have to travel far, to boot. Yup, on April 5-6, UMBC will host the 2008 President’s Cup, which, if you were clueless like I was, is the Final Four of chess! The other participants in the tournament include our own New York University, along with the University of Texas-Dallas and Miami-Dade College. Billy Packer and Jim Nantz will call all the action. (Okay, I made up that last part). - by Sean Brennan (link)

Attention: Ana Ivanovic to get sexier
bullievablesports.blogspot.com 3/23/2008 — Ana Ivanovic is rising to a new level of sexy. In the upcoming Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, she has agreed to make her skirt 2 inches shorter!!! Apparently this is in an effort to draw more men to the matches. I am pretty sure they will have great success with this attempt. (But if this doesn't work they can always play their matches wearing clear tennis dresses.) You know I have always ...
