The NeverEnding Story March Madness is infamous for crippling work productivity, and the last thing our economy needed was the entire New York-Connecticut sports community calling in sick Friday.
But those who stuck around the Garden for Syracuse-UConn—a six overtime, three hours, 46 minutes heavyweight brawl—didn’t get out until 1:22 AM. Only Doug Gottlieb can make that turnaround—and we know ESPN has to feed him intravenously. Top Seeds Resting Big 12 top-seeds Kansas and Oklahoma watched from the central time zone, cold G2 in hand, confused. Why would the Orange and Huskies expend so much energy in the conference tournament? The Jayhawks and Sooners opted to rest their legs for the Big Dance, bowing out early in Oklahoma City, to Baylor and Oklahoma State respectively.
