VC leaves game with strained hamstring (updated)

The Nets’ worst nightmare has already happened - less than halfway through their first preseason game. Vince Carter strained his left hamstring while driving for a layup in the second quarter of the Nets’ game against the Heat in Paris. The team’s PR staff sent out an e-mail saying Carter would be out the rest of the game. The Nets are banking on Carter having one of his vintage seasons this year if they are to have any hope of making the playoffs. Let’s not jump the gun here, as no one is sure how serious the injury is. But imagine the Nets playing without Carter for any kind of extended time this season. Ouch. More later.
