Virginia Tech has established itself at the top of the ACC from their play the last three seasons—so much so that voters and pundits, myself included, overlooked questions at QB and the offensive line, as well as the task of replacing many starters from the ACC’s best run defense a year ago.
The skeptics had all the ammo they needed after the Hokies lost their opener to little ol’ East Carolina on a blocked punt. Maybe things were finally turning against Beamer Ball?
Well, the East Carolina Pirates have turned out to be an OK team, and Virginia Tech is suddenly 3-1 with two Coastal Division wins on their mantle. I had the Hokies winning the Coastal Division and still think they will.
I go back and forth as to whether or not the Hokies will win a third ACC title in five years and may do so until they are either lifting the trophy in Tampa or eliminated from the competition. Their defense tells me "yes"—their offense tells ...
