Quarterback Pat White left No. 2 West Virginia's game with Pittsburgh after injuring the thumb on his non-throwing hand Saturday night.
White was hurt on a keeper midway through the second quarter when he fell awkwardly on his right hand. He went to the sidelines and trainers wrapped his hand in ice.
Jarrett Brown replaced White and led the Mountaineers to the game's opening points, finishing the drive with a 6-yard touchdown run.
