Wang doesn't impress in spring outing

 
3:08 p.m.: The rematch of Game 1 of last year’s AL Division Series is over because both Chien-Ming Wang, the Yanks’ probable opening day starter, and Cy Young winner CC Sabathia are out of the game. Frankly, neither was impressive, though Wang did strike out seven in 4.1 innings. Trouble was, he allowed six hits and four runs, including a long homer to Grady Sizemore. Wang’s ERA this spring is 8.44 – it actually dropped from 8.53 after today’s performance. Sabathia, meanwhile, gave up five hits and three runs in four innings. He walked three and struck out three and probably is still bumming about how far Duncan’s homer went. 2:01 p.m.: Shelley Duncan said this morning he would appeal his three-game suspension and fine and Melky Cabrera reiterated he’d appeal his own identical ban, though Cabrera also said he has not watched the video.
