The Golden State Warriors put up a great effort against the defending champion Boston Celtics. The Warriors managed to keep it close in the first quarter and at the end were down by just seven points.
The second quarter is where the Warriors took over. The Celtics' second unit, led by Tony Allen, Glenn Davis, and Leon Power just couldn't match up to the Warriors. The Warriors attacked the basket and made their open looks. There were some ticky tack foul calls being called against the Celtics and it peaked once the Warriors got up to a 12 point lead and Doc Rivers had enough and got a technical foul.
For the first half of the third quarter the Cetlics and Warriors traded baskets. The Celtics defensive pressure stepped up and got the Warriors out of sync, which they could never recover from. Golden State, at that point, was still attacking the basket, but a couple of bogus flops by the Celtics got them away from attacking the bucket.
