Washington's Ovechkin in the Playoffs

 
The Washington Capitals began in the lower ranks of this year's NHL season. Since 1974, the Caps have only been crowned Division Champions three other times besides this year's surprise run under new coach Bruce Boudreau. As I viewed the team in person at the Verizon Center, the team was as an upcoming team that would be built around Alexander Ovechkin. Hundreds of fans walking through the tunnels wore Ovechkin's jersey proudly. Turning a 28-40-14 record from last year into a 43-41-8 record this year.    The Turn Around On November 27, 2008, Bruce Boudreau was announced as the new head coach of the Washington Capitals inheriting a 6-14-1 record. In his rookie year of coaching he compiled a record of 37-17-7. It was quite the turn around a team that was bound to go into the off season with a lot of questions to answer, to a team that would be lead by Sergei Federov, Donald Brashear, Chris Clark, Alexander Ovechkin, and Tom Poti into the playoffs.
