Week 10 postgame, the teams: Georgia Tech surges; Oregon stumbles

The Panthers are gearing up for a stretch run against No. 19 Notre Dame (not so daunting — or ranked — anymore), at rival West Virginia and against No. 4 Cincinnati. Pitt also is 5-0 in the Big East for the first time since 2002. • Northwestern's win over Iowa was its first against a top-10 opponent since it knocked off No. 6 Ohio State 33-27 in overtime in 2004. • Notre Dame beat Navy 43 straight times in a streak that began in 1963. Now the Fighting Irish have lost to the Midshipmen twice in three seasons under Charlie Weis after Navy defeated the 19th-ranked Irish 23-21 in Notre Dame Stadium.
