West Prevails Over East as Penguins defeat Flyers in Battle of Pennsylvania, 4-2
Pittsburgh Penguins' Head Coach Michel Therrien grabbed every "you're going to be fired" rumor by the balls tonight and shoved it down its' respective authors' throat. Therrien tore a page out of the old Montreal Canadien play book and implemented the 1-2-2 trap. The Pens played the trap to perfection, wreaking havoc on the Flyers in the neutral zone all night long. Martin Biron was in goal for Philly, so you knew the Pens were good for four or five tallies tonight.
Recap Mike Knuble scored the luckiest goal in the history of hockey when a dump-in attempt hit Marc-Andre Fleury and bounced right to the front of a gaping cage. Knuble tapped it in for an early Flyers' lead. The Godardfather pummled Riley Jokete with a few big right hands and each combatant headed to the sin bin to serve their time. Max Talbot played one of the best games of his career tonight. Mad Max was all over the ice, and set up Tyler Kennedy for the Penguins' first goal of the game.
