Bob Knight is not a candidate for the basketball opening at Western Kentucky. Athletic director Wood Selig said Thursday there was no truth to speculation that Knight would replace Darrin Horn, who left this week to become coach at South Carolina. A week after guiding Western Kentucky to the Sweet 16, Darrin Horn has been named the new head basketball coach at South Carolina. Horn was 111-48 in five seasons at WKU and replaces Dave Odom, who stepped down after seven seasons as head coach of the Gamecocks. The announcement is expected to be made official Tuesday
