PHILADELPHIA—Sporting News' Stan McNeal analyzes Game 4 of the World Series between the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies:
1. The Phillies like to pitch inside. Their favorite targets have been Alex Rodriguez and Mark Teixeira. After Joe Blanton hit A-Rod in the first inning—the third time he had been hit in this series—both benches were warned. "I don't necessarily think it's intentional," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said, "but Alex has been hit three times and Tex has been hit twice, and we don't necessarily like that. We need those guys."
2. The battle of Arkansas beckons. TV ratings for tonight's Game 5 should be high in Little Rock when Arkansas natives A.J. Burnett and Cliff Lee start for the Yankees and Phillies, respectively. Even Lee admitted the matchup will be a "neat deal." For him, that comment is the equivalent of chest-thumping excitement. ...
