What a deal: Davidson students getting free ride to tourney

 
It’s a very big deal that North Carolina is here for the East Regional but they aren’t the only story. Davidson is close by and garnering big swaths of space in the area newspapers. One story of particular interest today is that Davidson is making it possible for students to go see the Wildcats against Wisconsin in the Midwest Region semifinals for free. A student would get round-trip transportation to and from Detroit on buses provided by the school and tickets to both sessions on Friday and Sunday (and that’s win or lose). Apparently the opportunity is being funded by a member or members of the school’s board of trustees, out of their own pockets. According to the Charlotte Observer, so many students have signed on that the school was trying to get extra tickets and more buses. A note from the administration pointed out to interested students that classes would not be cancelled on Friday and that they should “consider going to the game only if this is, academically, the right ...
