What's up with Giambi's goggles?

 
I didn’t get to see much of the last two Toronto games - real-life obligations intruded - but I did get to see Jason Giambi wearing those googles, and I heard Joe Girardi talking about them. Those goofy googles reminded me of that “Flintstones” episode, when Fred was driving Barney’s race car in the Indianapolisrock 500 and Fred called himself “Goggles Pisano.” It sounds like the Big G either wore the glasses to see the field better, or to loosen up the team, or both. Heaven knows this team needs to get loosened up again. Also, I see that Jason has his mustache back, approximately five minutes after shaving it off. Hope he isn’t using performance-enhancing substances on it to get the ‘stache back so quickly! As for the game itself, it was good to see that Andy Pettitte and Derek Jeter stepped up and carried the team last night, after Tuesday’s nightmarish loss.
