What Statement Did the 2009 Sugar Bowl Make?

 
(Mainly to the Utes and the Tide from a die-hard Crimson Tide Fan and let’s say “statements” would be better used in the title.) Statement One.     I’ve seen few teams ever more inspired than the Utes were.  Can anyone who watched the game deny this?  Had the University of Utah been part of a playoff system, they may very well have become the undisputed 2008 national champion.    After watching this game, had there been an eight team playoff system already in place, considering the Utes had been able to play against any of the BCS eight, with each opponent’s team being the exact same men who played in their final bowl game, I would have easily expected them to win at least their first two games.  Should this have happened, if not actually winning the national championship game, which I definitely believe they probably would have done, whoever they might have played for the championship would have been given one ...
