The White Sox defeated the Dodgers today 6-5. The White Sox have taken two of three from the best team in baseball. Ozzie Guillen's comments after the game? Nothing impressed him, except the bullpen. They (White Sox players) are doing things to "piss him off."
The Good
The rally. The White Sox have not been good in come from behind situations this year. They were down early 4-0, but roared back to take the 5-4 lead in the sixth inning.
Jermaine Dye and Paul Konerko combined to go 4-for-8, including a huge hit by Konerko in the bottom of the 13th.
Scott Podsednik came up huge. He was in the midst of an 0-for-9 slump and proceeded to get two hits, including the game-winner.
AJ Pierzynski also came up huge. He went 2-for-6, including a three-run home run that put the White Sox up.
But the most important sign today was clearly the bullpen. The bullpen pitched nearly a whole game (8 2/3 innings) yielding zero earned runs. Linebrink and Dotel looked like their old selves.
