Who Did the Mariners Make an Offer to? Could it Be Ben Sheets?

 
The Seattle Mariners have been staying fairly silent this off-season. Until now; Today the Seattle Mariners made an offer to a free-agent name unknown. The Mariners are supposed to be focused on hitting, but if they strike a bargain with Ben Sheets I bet they'll take it. Yes it is crazy but they would have the best rotation coming into 2009. I believe the Mariners have some of the best pitching in the league but when the A's traded for Holliday, the possibility of the Angel's signing Manny Ramirez, and with the Rangers having the best offense in the league, the Seattle Mariners need something. The hitting isn't too bad anyway, If Mike Morse moves to first and Yuniesky does what he did in September, then the infield is set. The catcher spot can be good this season. With the competition there between four guys, the Mariners very well could have one guy put it over the top and have a Geovany Soto-type season.
