Who should Rangers fans root for?

Nice to see you all were able to play nice while I stole a couple of days in Ft. Lauderdale with my wife and kids in anticipation of a potentially extended playoff run… As for tonight, with every Eastern Conference team even remotely in the playoff hunt other than Montreal on the schedule, how should a Rangers fan root? Last season (particularly in retrospect, but even going into the last night of the regular seasono) it was pretty clear that Atlanta was the best first-round matchup for the Rangers. Thus, the Rangers were best off finishing sixth and drawing the Southeast winner. It’s hardly so clear this year. Carolina’s goaltending alone is so much more reliable than Atlanta’s was last season. Then there’s the little matter of the Hurricanes having won the Cup two years ago.
