ccording to the Boston Globe for the Boston Red Sox to acquire Johan Santana they would need to give away Jon Lester or Clay Buchholz. But the Red Sox would not be willing to give away both. Also if they were to do the trade the Red Sox would want to be able to resign Santana for a long-term deal.
