Wrap Up: Haren, Dye, Giants, Rivera, V-Mart

 
First thing's first: For all you Diamondbacks' fans out there, here's a scary thought: Dan Haren, the ace of your pitching staff, has apparently been shopped around to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and maybe other teams. The Angels were expected to do much better than they did this season, and have barely taken over the Texas Rangers for first in the AL West. If the AL West goes right down to the wire, which it should, the Angels could use another ace. Despite all of this, one Arizona executive said: "I almost can't conceive of a package that would motivate us to move him." I really don't see anyone on the Angels worth trading for Haren.   Secondly: Apparently, the Cincinnati Reds and the San Francisco Giants have been showing great amounts of interest in Chicago White Sox outfielder Jermaine Dye. Both teams would have to give up good prospects. According to ESPN.com's Buster Olney, the Giants and White Sox apparently don't match up well for a deal.    ... (link)
