Yankees better remember the bug spray tonight in Cleveland
The Yankees return to Cleveland tonight for the first game since the infamous ALDS “bug game” last year. I hope that the midges stay at home this time!
Speaking of which, Joba Chamberlain, who was stuck pitching through that bug infestation, had his first career loss last night in Chicago, thanks to Joe Crede. Thanks to that long, long rain delay moving everything back back so late, I didn’t get to see the end of the game. It’s just as well.
Phil Hughes started the game, but Joe Girardi didn’t go back to him after the rain delay. I understand some fans were squawking about that, but it made sense to me.
But what doesn’t make sense to me is why the Yanks don’t have a real long relief pitcher, especially given some of the short outings the starters have had this season. If they put Brian Bruney on the DL due to his foot injury, they really should bring up somebody who can eat innings. I hear Kei Igawa is available!
But what do you think? Leave us ...
