Yankees May Pass on A.J. Burnett

(Zell's Pinstripe Blog) A.J. Burnett is seeking a five-year contract, and the Yankees aren’t looking to go that high. We all know the Yankees like to throw money around, but it doesn’t make sense to give such a big contract to a injury prone pitcher. IF he insists that he only wants 5 years, than the Yankees will back away from him. If it doesn’t work out with Burnett, than the Yanks need to push hard really hard for Derek Lowe. Last year went well for A.J. It was one of his few healthy seasons. He won 18 games, and led the AL with 231 K’s. He has landed on the DL 10 times in 10 years, with all different sorts of injuries. I’m not saying don’t go after him, but don’t go crazy here.. ————————————————— Was Watching: Making a case for the Moose  / River Ave. Blues: Yanks offer C.C. enough? (link)
