Yanks announce rescheduled Tigers game

Here’s a tidbit from the Yankees while waiting for word on A-Rod, who was slated to play in an extended spring game in Florida at 10 a.m.: The May 11 rainout in Detroit has been rescheduled for Sept. 1 at 1:05 p.m. at Comerica Park. That is a Monday that comes on the heels of an afternoon game at the Stadium against the Blue Jays the previous day. After the game in Detroit, the Yankees start a three-game series in St. Petersburg against the Rays and then go to Seattle for three games and then on to Anaheim to play the Angels three times. The rescheduled game turns their three-city, nine-game road trip into a four-city, 10-game affair and also assures the Yanks of playing 16 straight days right in the “dog days” of the season, when they may or may not be fighting for a playoff spot. - By Anthony McCarron [link]
