Yanks 'go that extra mile' for Virginia Tech

 
First, let me apologize for the lack of posts yesterday, but my connectivity from the Virginia Tech campus was an issue. That was pretty much the only negative of the entire day. The Yankees’ trip to Blacksburg was an emotional one. The campus welcomed them with open arms – even the Red Sox fans – and you could see how much it meant to the students that guys like Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez and Jorge Posada made the trip to help the healing process continue. It was 11 months ago that a mentally deranged student went on a shooting spree on their campus, taking 32 lives in the process. Yesterday, I spoke with several people that were on campus at the time of the incident, and hearing them talk about it is something I won’t soon forget. One girl, Theresa Walsh, was in one of the classrooms that the gunman attacked. He shot at her but missed, and she made it out of there without being physically harmed.
