Yanks' quiet loss spurs loud meeting

Andy Pettitte was off from the start on Thursday, allowing six runs (five earned) to snap a personal streak of six straight wins as the Yankees lost the first of four with the Red Sox, 7-0. Reliever Dan Giese retired all seven batters he faced.
