Yanks win best game of the year - so far

What an exciting game, for once. And what a pleasant surprise to see this team show some intestinal fortitude, after being knocked down several times in the game. Michael Kay was so excited, I thought he was going to grow a mustache himself, in honor of Jason Giambi’s new look! Click here to see a photo gallery of Giambi’s homer. It was the most memorable moment of the season so far, especially given that the Yanks were behind by five runs at one point. The Yanks didn’t have to just overcome another shoddy start by Chien-Ming Wang (is it okay to start worrying about him?), they also had to overcome another shoddy relief performance by Kyle Farnsworth. Not to mention the fact that Robinson Cano is still struggling, and can’t even lay down a bunt. And it was a little frightening to read that prior to yesterday’s win, the Yanks had been a horrific 0-27 when they were behind after eight innings.
