On BLOOMBERG.COM, Wing-Gar Cheng reports "Yao Ming, voted his country's most popular athlete, said he expects to be ready for the Beijing Olympics even though his recovery from surgery is dragging on.`The Olympics is the biggest opportunity for any athlete and no one wants to miss it,'' the Houston Rockets center said at a news conference in Beijing today. ``I will do my best.' The 7-foot-6 Yao had surgery to repair a stress fracture in his left foot in March and missed the final two months of the National Basketball Association season, putting his participation in the Olympics in jeopardy."
