Delmon Young's first full season in the bigs opened plenty of eyes, evidenced by the voting for the AL Rookie of the Year Award. The Rays right fielder picked up three first-place votes, finishing behind only Boston second baseman Dustin Pedroia.

Major League Baseball announced that Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia and Milwaukee Brewers third baseman Ryan Braun won the American League and National League Rookie of the Year Awards, respectively. Braun beat out Colorado Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki by only 2 votes, making it the closest race in MLB History. Braun didn't make his debut in the majors until May 25th. According to the Associated Press Boston’s own second baseman Dustin Pedroia has won the 2007 AL Rookie of the Year award. Aparently Pedroia finished well ahead of the Rays Delmon Young. In the NL the Brewer’s Ryan Braun won Rookie of the Year by two votes over Colorado’s Troy Tulowitzki, in one of the closest votes ever.
