Pistons' Prince out indefinitely with disc rupture

The Pistons say forward Tayshaun Prince will be out of the lineup indefinitely due to a small rupture of a disc in his lower back. The team said Saturday that the injury was confirmed following an MRI exam and evaluation by team doctors this week. The Pistons say Prince will continue to receive treatment for the injury. Prince had been sidelined since earlier this month with a back injury. The 6-foot-9 Prince has appeared in three games this season averaging 12.3 points, 5 rebounds and 2.

New York City office workers who got carried away during the Yankees victory parade on Friday apparently began tossing files and documents out the window when they couldn't get their hands on confetti. Auditor Damian Salo attended the Manhattan parade. He tells The New York Post he found all sorts of personal financial documents in the mountains of shredded paper tossed from skyscrapers as the players rode up Broadway.

Kevin Smith Is Not the Reason For the Detroit Lions' Failures

Don't blame Kevin Smith for Detroit's offensive ineptitude. He is not at fault. Yes, his 3.1 yards per carry average is below par, as is his 393 total rushing yards eight games into the season. But there is enough mud to be slung around the Lions locker room so Smith should not bear much, if any blame for the Lions' lack of production. The talk show hosts who label Smith a bust are too quick to judge. It's only his second season in the NFL. The frustrated fans who post on message boards that Aaron Brown is a better running back are nothing short of incompetent. Kevin Smith could end up being another Kevin Jones. But to write him off as such this early in his career is unjust. Other than Calvin Johnson, and hopefully—dare I say potentially—Matthew Stafford, Smith is the most talented offensive weapon Detroit has.
