Well maybe not that harshly said, but Casey
Mears will not return to Hendrick Motorsports in 2009...
Casey Mears is out of a ride for
2009 after the announcement from Hendrick Motorsports officially releasing
him from the no. 5 car at the end of the season.
A final decision on where Tony Stewart could
be at in 2009 appears as though it could
be quickly approaching. Haas CNC Racing has been the "usual suspect" throughout all of the NASCAR Silly Season talk, but the newly opened seat over at Hendrick Motorsports could be the new frontrunner on pulling Stewart away from Joe Gibbs Racing.
Boy, Tony Stewart must love the attention he
is getting these days with no wins this season
(more on that to come later) and lot options when it comes to picking up a ride next year. And now with Casey Mears being released from Hendrick Motorsports at the end of the year,
Tony Stewart said Friday the new opening at
Hendrick Motorsports could affect his decision about where he
drives next season. >
