Breaking News: Knicks trade for Patrick Ewing Jr.
Who didn't see this coming? The more surprising parts are that, (1) The Rockets actually accepted New York's draft rights to FREDERIC WEIS in exchange for Ewing Jr., who picked up the nickname "The Legacy" in the Dime office during his Georgetown run, and (2) That the Knicks even remembered that they had Weis' rights.
Basketball-wise, [...]

Sarah Palin Looks Like Tina Fey
I don’t have anything political to say about this yet, but this was my first instinct on the topic. By the way, I went to bed last night. Did Obama accept the nomination? Just wondering.

Finding Sarah Palin Pics
So, VP Candidate Sarah Palin was runner up for Miss Alaska, so I figured I could find a swimsuit pic of her (Miss Alaska -- must have a swimsuit competition, right?). So I found one promising link. Clicked on the link, here is a cut and paste of the screen I got: You have been blocked from entering this site. You have attempted a Scripting attack on this site. All of the following ...

John McCain Goes After Hillary Dems and Picks 1st Term Alaska Govenor, Sarah Palin
John McCain has just made 1st term Alaska Govenor, Sarah Palin his choice as vice president. She’s 44, with 5 children, is pro life and against gay marriage. I guess after last night’s amazing pageantry, McCain has to do something to make it happen. He’s going after the women and independent vote in one fell swoop. This is a huge roll of the dice and it proves the ...

According to a number of news agencies, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, a self-styled “hockey mom”, is Republican Presidential candidate John McCain’s choice for Vice President.
The official announcement is set for sometime early this afternoon. The Republican convention begins on Monday in the XCEL Energy Center, home of the Minnesota Wild. The Democrats had their convention ...

POLITICS: Sound and Fury
My take on Obama's speech last night, before it gets completely overshadowed by the McCain VP announcement (if it's indeed Palin, now we know what John McCain wanted for his birthday: Barack Obama's news cycle):
1. Yes, it's hard for me to objectively evaluate a speech of this nature by a Democrat, but I can say this: it wasn't a dud like Kerry in 2004 and wasn't power-mad like Gore in ...

Saha becomes a Toffee
After falling out of favour with most supporters, including myself, as he spent more time in the stands than on the field, Frenchman Louis Saha has signed for Everton. The move is subject to a medical and the fee is undisclosed. Ferguson had previously stated that the striker would be staying at the Red Devils [...]

David Duchovny wants to touch you
…but he’s chosen to enter rehab for sex addiction instead.
Like most actors these days, David has a certified autograph trading card that can be found all over eBay. The weird thing is, despite there being dozens of them in auctions right now, every one with a Buy It Now is at $200 or more.
The card was made by Inkworks and is for the X-Files ‘I Want To Believe’ ...

McCain-Pawlenty -- Thoughts of a Minnesota Democrat
Pawlenty has abruptly left Denver and canceled all his public appearances. So, he may be the one. My thoughts on Tim Pawlenty: 1) From reports of people who knew him -- not overly impressive as a youngster. Hockey player, but not a particularly good one. http://www.citypages.com/2004-01-28/news/a-portrait-of-the-governor-as-a-young-weenie/ Is from South St. Paul (Democrat area, ...

Five Things I'm Looking for on Saturday
For whatever reason, this August has seemed so much longer than previous ones. Maybe it's just my anticipation of wanting to see if LSU can duplicate its success over the past few years. Maybe it's just that my fantasy baseball team is horrible so my lone sports activity of the summer has been a lost cause for so long. Either way, I'm excited to don my LSU jersey and watch some football. ...

Miami Sports Blog Prediction.
Since football season is but hours away, I suppose it’s time to light MSB back up. What better way to follow up my last bitch-fest post than to make one of my ten predictions of the year. I must say, I have never been so excited to start the season against a cake team as I am right now. I just looked Charleston Southern up, and we are only the fifth D. I team they have ever played. ...

Big Ten Network added to various cable systems
Great news for Big Ten fans around the country! A number of cable systems across the country have recently had the Big Ten Network added to their channel line-up. This includes Comcast and Charter among others. The actual location varies by cable system and geography, usually the further away from a Big Ten market, the further away in the cable line-up one can find it. For example Comcast has ...

POLITICS: Cantor for VP
We had a roundtable yesterday on the GOP Veepstakes over at RedState (as you can see, among the Contributors there we have a major divergence not only over the right VP pick but over McCain's odds in this election - and yes, that's former FEC Commissioner Brad Smith taking the view that McCain is a lost cause). I ultimately came to the conclusion that McCain should pick Virginia Congressman ...

Andy Roddick And That Young Hot Girl He's Engaged To Are Really Going to Get Married
It appears that one of the most eligible bachelors on the professional tennis tour (something I never thought I'd type) will be off the market come spring. Andy Roddick and recently 21-year-old Brooklyn Decker are planning to spit out those wonderful "i dos" this spring in Texas, a place Roddick says they spend most of their time. According to Andy, the wedding will be a very small affair. ...
