September 23 vs. the Detroit Lions, the team
taking the field in these bizarre blue and yellow
uniforms will be your Philadelphia Eagles. In honor of the teams' 75th anniversary season the Eagles will seize the opportunity to sell more jerseys by donning the uniforms they first wore in 1933.
We all pretty much know how the story
of Corey Simon started. Right here in Philadelphia when
the Eagles picked him with the #6 overall pick in in the 2000 draft. In his first year he broke the Eagles' rookie sack record with 9.5 and despite not reaching that number again, he still put up 32 sacks in his first 5 years as an Eagle. A very impressive number for a DT. Then the problems started...
Sportscenter devoted an entire segment to covering the
lavish wedding of Eva Longoria & Tony Parker in
France. It was no mere mention of the story or a few pieces of video of Eva Longoria to look at... They actually brought on a British gossip correspondent and had the sportscenter anchor interview her for a good 5 minutes. They went over the details of how the couple had to have a civil ceremony
If you aren't familiar with the curse of
Billy Penn here's a quick synapses... The Curse of
William Penn is an alleged curse, sometimes used to explain the failure of professional sports teams based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to win championships since the March 1987 addition of the One Liberty Place skyscraper, which exceeded the height of William Penn's statue atop Philadelphia City Hall.
Did you know that the Patriots DE/OLB Richard
Seymour was the highest paid player in the NFL
last year? He made about 24.7 million bucks. The highest paid QB in football last year? Drew Brees at 22 mil. David Carr was the 4th highest paid QB. Corey Simon was the 25th highest paid player. Ouch... Here's an amazing one. Two guys on the Vikings' offensive line were among the top 5 highest paid!
Found this on the official site. Sheldon Brown's
hit on Reggie Bush in last year's playoffs. "He
was lucky," Brown says. "His elbow was pinned against his body, protecting his rib cage, or else I probably would have broken his rib. What did it ...
In what is really yet another "list" column,
Pete Prisco went through most of the notable veterans
currently playing and gave his opinion on which are locks to go to Canton, which are on the bubble, which have a way to go, and which have no shot. In all honestly, I actually agree with his thoughts on the Eagles he included in the list.
A little piece of Eagles history on a
Friday afternoon... November 12, 1990, Washington Redskins vs. Philadelphia
Eagles, Monday Night Football. In the days leading to the clash, Eagles head coach Buddy Ryan threatened a beating so severe that "they'll have to be carted off in body bags." Ryan's words were prophetic. The Eagles defense scored three touchdowns in a 28-14 win and knocked nine ...
There were some interesting bits from McNabb's PC
this week about the impact or lack thereof of
rookies on this team. Does anyone else sense some frustration here? Am I reading too far into things?
At least how they rank the DBs... CLick
on the thumbnails for a larger view. Click here
here & here for the full size pics. A poster on the NFL Draft countdown boards posted some screenshots of a news report done at the Cowboys headquarters. I ...
I'm not sure how much anyone really cares
about this story, but since there was some news
I figured I'd throw it out there. If anyone reads PFT , an NFL news/gossip blog, on any regular basis you'd know that they seem obsessed with teams breaking the ...
Making lists is fun, reading lists are fun.
Any "how to increase traffic to your site/blog" article
will always tell you to make lists. "The top 5 reasons blah blah... The 8 best blah blahs of all time..." So in a time such as now when the NFL news cycle has more or less screeched to a halt, everyone is making lists. Come to to think of it, maybe I should make my own list... Of lists.

At the end of 2004, you could certainly
see 3 of the top 5 QBs in the
game were Mike Vick, Daunte Culpepper, & Donovan McNabb. McNabb was in the Superbowl, Vick in the NFC title game, Culpepper coming off a 39 TD season... Since then, it's all went downhill for these 3. Some worse than others.
Who were those guys in Blue and Yellow
today? It certianly wasn't the same Eagles offense that
showed up in weeks one & two. They hang 56 on the Lions, set a team record for the most points in a half, didn't punt until the 3rd quarter, and racked up 536 yards of total offense. This is the most points the Eagles offense have scored since they put 58 on who? That would be these same Detroit ...
Don't adjust your set this weekend, the Eagles
are not playing the St Louis Rams... These are
the NY Jets throwbacks the team is wearing to celebrate the NFL's 75th anniversary. The colors are those worn by the New York Titans. The team began in 1960 as a charter member of the American Football League under the name New York Titans. It was renamed after Sonny Werblin bought the team in 1963. The J
I have to admit, I do find this
somewhat intriguing... What about one guy on your team
with a C on his chest? The NFL's Player Advisory Council made up of current Eagles Takeo Spikes and former Eagles James Thrash and Troy Vincent presented an interesting idea to the commissioner to better recognize and emphasize the role of team captains. The thought seems to be in many ways to use the ...
Collection of reports and stories from Eagles training
camp
I've tried my best to present all the
sides and scenarios of this Shawn Andrews injury mystery.
We know what Andrews said, we know what the team has said, we've heard from a number of reporters who claim sources within the team that have told them different things. What I haven't done was try to be sensational for the sake of being sensational. Unfortunately, the Philadelphia Daily News has.
Considering that today is Halloween, I think it's
appropriate to discuss who I consider to be the
most vile creatures on earth. The scourge of any NFL city... That would Dallas Cowboy fans not from Dallas.
It's pretty hard to believe but Brian Westbrook
was voted into his very first pro bowl. He
has previously played in the game after 04 season as an alternate. Shawn Andrews was voted into his second consecutive pro bowl. Once an offensive lineman gets ...
