Who'd win, and in how many games? WhatIfSports
ran the simulation
Nate Robinson (aka "Mr. July") was paid the
ultimate backhanded compliment on Sunday when his jersey was
retired by the Vegas summer league. Unfortunately, we've got video evidence showing it didn't stay that way for long.
NBA world champs vs. presumed Olympic champions: who
wins?
Bucks announcer steps into Brew Hoop.
In the third part of our interview, Bucks
GM John Hammond addresses his surplus of small forwards,
whether he's shopping either of his guards, and how the cap and luxury tax impact his decision-making.
Bogut's going it alone for now. Yep, it's
been that kind of season: Andrew Bogut makes a
free throw, and when no one seems to notice, he dreams up some better teammates for imaginary high-fives. Good times. Bogut was the lone bright spot last ...
Brew Hoop was courtside in Vegas for the
Bucks and Timberwolves, so clearly we had to do
a liveblog.
Every blogger would love the chance to pick
the brain of their team's GM. Last Friday we
got our chance, sitting down with John Hammond for a wide-ranging discussion on the state of Bucks basketball. Part I recaps Hammond's organizational overhaul, including the hiring of Scott Skiles, the importance of the new structure he's put in place, and reflections on his time in Detroit.
Spring is almost here, and optimism is consuming
us. Wait, it's not? Fine. Just please adjust the
grocery bag out of your line of vision and read on. The Bucks are only 5.5 games out of the playoffs. With slightly less than a month left in the regular season, that's no small amount of ground to make up. Then again, it's hardly an insurmountable deficit.
The prevailing wisdom is that Michael Redd's contract
mostly precludes the possibility of getting anything aside from
future picks, middling talent, and expiring contracts back, but the Mavericks could represent the perfect trade partner.
Last summer's Team USA roster played in over
95 % of their regular season games the following
NBA season. A third of the team played in all 82 games. And no one suffered a noticeable drop in production. So let's just enjoy what should be the best international basketball competition ever.

The Mo Williams Show is moving to the
shores of a new Great Lake, with the Bucks
also shipping Desmond Mason back to Oklahoma in exchange for the once-promising Luke Ridnour, former Buck Damon Jones, and throw-in Adrian Griffin. We sort through the details.
The Orlando pre-draft measurements may not be as
precise as you think they are.

Multiple stories are now talking about a possible
deal that would send Mo Williams to Cleveland, Luke
Ridnour to Milwaukee, and Joe Smith to OKC. What's it mean for the Bucks?
Michael Hunt's latest column at the Journal-Sentinel neither
pulls punches nor offers any real solutions, but that's
pretty much where the Bucks find themselves at the moment. Last night's shorthanded win in Charlotte will help offset somewhat the 101-77 drubbing they took at the BC on Saturday courtesy of the Wizards, but overall the Bucks still find themselves in quite a hole at 13-20.
Frank Isola first made the Donnie Walsh/Bucks connection
yesterday, and he writes today that "Milwaukee is prepared
to offer Walsh its GM job" : Another team - believed to be Atlanta - has also reached out to Walsh, but at this stage it is a three-team race between the Knicks, Bucks and Pacers.
ESPN is reporting that Pistons' VP of Basketball
Operations John Hammond will be officially named the Bucks'
new general manager as early as Monday. Especially in light of the recent speculation about names such as Rick Sund and Billy King, the hiring of Hammond looks to be a fantastic start to the offseason.
Brew Hoop was there for the media session
following the Bucks' first predraft workouts. Check out what
Anthony Randolph, Joe Alexander and Donte Greene had to say about their head-to-head battles, and what Scott Skiles and John Hammond thought of the forwards on display.
Australia takes care of Yao/Yi in China, Joe
Alexander rocks a mustache at the rookie photo shoot,
the Bucks *might* still play in China this preseason, and Dave Berri compares the NBA's latest $12 million/year centers.
Americas champs defeat European champs in China. Team
USA downed defending Euro champs Russia 89-68 ( recap
/ photos ) early Sunday morning. Facing its toughest pre-Olympic opponent yet, Team USA won comfortably but not quite as thoroughly as in previous games. Kobe Bryant led all scorers with 19 and Michael Redd added six points on 2-3 from outside in just 11 minutes. LeBron ..
