of great races yesterday in the Gatorade Duel 150s.
I’m not a NASCAR fan that needs to see a bunch of wrecks to enjoy the races, and yesterdays were some of the best Duel 150s I’ve seen in quite a while. 50th Daytona 500 Lineup Props to Michael Waltrip and his team. I was pulling for Dale Jarrett to make the field for the ...
Dave Gardner over at New Era Scouting has
very good interview with former Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon
and how he’s staying positive. Good read. I’ve started looking at mock drafts and trying to get a feel for where he might get drafted, but it’s pretty hard to tell. In New Era Scoutings draft guide, they have Dixon going to Jacksonville in the 5th round with pick no. 159.
Only caught a few innings of the game
last night, but got the rundown from Al the
Sports Dude. Great inning by inning account of the game. Don’t look now but White Sox pitcher Gavin Floyd has Detroit with this line…listening on XM 181…
Ready for some more Saturday night racing, this
time at Darlington Raceway for the Dodge Challenger 500.
Which means it’s another early deadline for selecting or editing drivers in the Yahoo! fantasy game, (May 9 2:00am PDT). Qualifying is 5 p.m. ET Friday and the race is 7 p.m. ET on Saturday. 45 drivers on the entry list, so only two will be sent home this weekend. This weeks recommends.

The Jays are a usually strong team with
strong finishes yet always seem to be denied a
pass to October due to key injuries (note: Blue Jays sent 13 guys to the DL last year with 4 players out for the year (2 were in Sept.) and a tough AL East. Toronto finished their 07 season with a record of 83-79 which is around the usual record they finish with. However, the Jays finished 13 games out. 13 GAMES
There’s nothing better than a good old fashion
pitchers duel. That’s just what Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum
and Padres pitcher Chris Young served up Thursday night in a 1-0 San Francisco win. At 10-13 heading into the last weekend of April the Giants have to be feeling pretty good.
Former Oregon QB Dennis Dixon was selected by
the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 5th round. Not the
best spot for Dixon if he wants to play QB. Barring an injury to Big Ben, Dixon won’t have many opportunities to get under center. This may not go over well with Oregon fans, but I can see the Steelers maybe seeing how he’d do as a punt or kickoff return man in the early going.
So the Cincinnati Bengals are trying to improve
their football team…and image. I’m all for giving the
benefit of the doubt to people and most do deserve a second chance, but why in the world would the Bengals go and draft someone that makes the HC say, “It’s a little bit of a risk, yes,” coach Marvin Lewis said....
Footballguys.com is easily one of the best fantasy
football site around. I’ve been going to footballguys since
2001 and the content is really unmatched anywhere else on the net. While they have many great features one of my favorites is the newsletter they send out. Every year Joe Bryant sends out his “non football” newsletter on three occasions, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Veterans Day.

Here’s the ESPN draft segment with the selection
of Catcher Buster Posey by the San Francisco Giants.
All over Raider Nation the masses are trying
to get inside Al Davis’ head and figure out
who we’re going to take with the No. 4 pick in this year’s draft. And we’re not the only team. This is the time of year where unless you do an infomercial along the lines of Miss Cleo, the smoke screens that get laid down by the Owner’s, GMs and HCs won’t get you any closer to who the pick’s might be. As ...
There is something special about a team that
can get excited when good things happen and not
get down when things aren’t going so well. I’ve said it before, if nothing else this Giants team will give us some kind of an unforgettable season. This is from Henry Shulman, San Francisco Chronicle.
New Era Scouting has put the finishing touches
on their 2008 NFL Draft Guide. I’ve already downloaded
my copy and inside the 87 page guide you’ll find among other things, a seven round mock, Top 250 player list, team needs listing, position previews with rankings, and a peek into the 2009 draft. Looks like a very good draft day companion.

This is what makes draft time so fun,
listening to all the smoke and mirrors that GM’s
throw out. Here’s a good read on the Texans situation by Steve Campbell over at the Houston Chronicle, It’s anybody’s guess what Texans will do
Time for some Saturday night racing at Richmond
International Raceway! Saturday night dirt track racing is what
I grew up with here in the Pacific Northwest, so anytime the Sprint Cup series runs on a Saturday night it’s always fun to watch.

Going to go through the mock drafts that
I track and see what changes have been made
now that most of the underclassmen have made up their minds. Still waiting on word if Cal WR DeSean Jackson is going to throw his name in the hat, first rounder if he does. DeSean Jackson has a message for those who want to know if he is entering the NFL draft. He still doesn’t know. On the eve of the ...
Great game tonight for the San Francisco Giants.
Jonathan Sanchez and the bullpen came up big in
shutting down the Padres. San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Dan Ortmeier's two-out double to the wall in center field scored pinch-runner Rajai Davis in the ninth inning to give the Giants a 1-0 win over the San Diego Padres.Fred Lewis threw a runner out at the plate for San Francisco, which ...
Now this is fun! Giants on a three
game win streak. Even sweeter I started Correia in
my NL-only league. San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Kevin Correia befuddled Cardinals batters over 7 2/3 scoreless frames, as the San Francisco Giants downed the St. Louis Cardinals, 5-1, at AT&T Park. Correia (1-1) mixed a sharp breaking ball with 2- and 4-seam fastballs, striking out four and ...
