going to be in the hunt for free agent
LHP C.C. Sabathia. Why? Are we trying to become the Yankees?
For Hot Foot, Andrew Beaton says that he
is able to accept the Mets second consecutive postseason
collapse, because such things do happen in sports. On the other hand, Beaton says he cannot tolerate the disrespect that the Wilpons demonstrate by building a stadium with more than 10,000 fewer seats.
Compared to a lot of the other reactionary talk surrounding the team immediately after the season, I feel like the conservative Mets fan.
Firstly, as others have pointed out, Jose Reyes , David Wright , and Carlos Beltran should stay for obvious reasons. They are a part of the illustrious ...

It was easier this time.
Not because the Mets “collapsed” in 2008. SNY’ s Ted Berg gives a good case for why the Mets did not collapse, and after reading it, it really started to bug me when ESPN could not talk about the Mets missing the playoffs without using the word ...

So, two years and two September swoons, and what does the guy behind all of the moves get? A three year extension of course. It’s only standard procedure to reward your GM when the team has severely underachieved for the better part of a year and a half. As you can see, I do not support ...

Just because we’ve suffered another devastating September collapse doesn’t mean that I can’t enjoy some October baseball.

Among the things heard on talk radio today:
Chase Utley is as good as David Wright .
The Mets should trade one or more of Wright, Jose Reyes , or Carlos Beltran .
Omar Minaya and the entire Mets front office needs to go.
Pure idiocy. While I often find the moronic ramblings of Mike ...

As the readers know, we here at the Foot are nothing if not helpful. That’s why I have made it my mission the last few months to find a new job for Willie Randolph . Because sitting around the house all day eating cereal and drinking beer is our job, not that of a professional manager. ...

Jon Heyman in his latest article on SI.com writes how the Mets cannot afford to sit on the sidelines when it comes to Francisco Rodriguez .
The Mets seem reluctant to get involved in the Francisco Rodriguez Sweepstakes since they’ve already committed $11 million to the injured Wagner. ...

I implore you to read Paul Moro of Ump Bump ’s tale of his final three games at Shea.
I was disappointed at times by the fan turnout in the final few games. Other than the final game at Shea, the actual crowd was far less than should have been expected and in my opinion, too pensive. I ...
