Just to refresh your memory, here's what I
wrote on Thursday morning: "And for God's sake, Geoff...
Petrie, please don't draft Spencer Hawes. I mean, it would be an absolute tragedy if this team wakes up tomorrow morning with more than one white 7-footer with a crippling lack of athleticism."

Last night I had a dream...and I was
the GM of the Memphis Grizzlies. I hosted a...
press conference to debunk all the crazy Kobe trade rumor nonsense, and at the end, I made a plea to both the Milwaukee Bucks organization along with Guangdong Tigers. "Mike Miller, Damon Stoudemire, and Stromile Swift in exchange for Yi and Charlie Bell." "Oh, and if it makes you feel better we'll throw in a

Hmm. "he has decided to accept his punishment..."
huh? (Nashville City Paper) Okay. So be it. Just...
seems strange that Pacman would drop the appeal. Why not just wait and see if maybe Goodell comes to his senses? After all, many agree that the year suspension was a little overboard.

Last year's NBA Draft, along with it's plethora
of trades, has left many wondering "what in the...
name of Zeus is going to happen tomorrow?". Even picks 1 and 2 are still being debated, as speculation has taken center stage ever since that tragic day in Memphis Grizzlies history (oh, and I guess Boston wasn't happy either)...May 22, 2007. Maybe it was that sheepish grin on Brandon Roy's face...

And he's not the King of Spain, either.
But he is yet another voyage into the international...
arena for the Memphis Grizzlies. Pau Gasol has his buddy, and no reason to whine this year. Beale Street is gearing up for some serious basketball this year. Juan Carlos Navarro. "La Bomba". Should be interesting to hear that rattled off in downtown Memphis. The deal is reportedly in exchange for

Ummmm, okay. Since Roger Goodell suspended Pacman Jones
for the season, I've had quite a few debates...
with various folks. Being a Titans fan, I'm undoubtedly biased in favor of Mr. Jones. It's plain and simple: he's a great player and we will miss him ...

Fresh off a season in which statistician John
Hollinger created new NBA stat after new NBA stat...
at the alter of all things sports, some ESPN baseball guy named Jeff Bennett decided he would not be left out. Bennett explains his rationale for A nother baseball stat this way: At the start of 2006, I was challenged to come up with a formula that ranks all major league players.

Former San Francisco Giants' closer, Rod "The Shooter"
Beck, died today at the young age of 38....
Beck is beloved by Giants fans for not only his talent in closing out games (something the San Francisco franchise has struggled with for years), but for his affable personality (he once lived in an RV outside of the San Diego Padres' Spring Training complex) and 80's hair band demeanor on the diamond.

With the number four pick in the 2007
NBA Draft, the Memphis Grizzlies select....Mike Conley, Jr. PG...
- THE Ohio State University...and his 40 and 1/2 inch vertical leapers.Thank God. For a second there, I was balancing on the ledge of my buddy's balcony, fully prepared to plummet to my grave if the name, "Joakim Noah" came out of Stern's mouth. Yesterday I wrote about wanting the sexy pick,

I don't apologize for being a Barry Bonds
fan. In fact, I would love to have a...
debate about his Hall of Fame worthiness, whether or not he "deserves" to be the homerun champ, or even whether or not he deserves all of the ridiculous articles and columns written by self-righteous "journalists" who think they are saving humanity by comparing Bonds with some of the most horrific characters of the

But lose. These, I'm afraid, are our San
Francisco Giants. 10 singles. 2 runs. Matt Cain was...
a stud, going 5 2/3, allowing 3 hits and 0 runs. Jack Taschner looked like a good reason to let Steve Kline slip away, bailing Cain out in the sixth with a strikeout. But Brad Hennessey and Keiichi Yabu contributed to yielding three runs in three innings. Guh. The bullpen letdown can't be the norm

I've discovered this morning that my hair is
receeding disproportionately. So today is the real football fan's...
second best day of the year, after opening weekend. Yes, the Super Bowl is the Super Bowl, but we know it's not for football fans. It's for people who watch for the halftime show or commercials or food at parties or to sound like all of the sudden they know that this Hester guy is

Forgive the political talk. It seems the Democrats
have lost Florida in the general election. I can't...
come close to understanding why, in trying to win the White House, the party would willfully ignore an entire state's primary vote. Clinton wins in Florida, by a lot, but because the DNC decided to punish the state for moving its primary, no delgates will be awarded to the Clinton camp.
