Hey everyone,
So on our way to get some cheese steaks at the infamous Ginos and Pats in Philadelphia, we wound up in Amish Country.
Don’t worry - I will make sure I eat my fair share of assorted jams and corn for all of you.
Oh, and if Dave Van Den Bergh is reading, I will save you a slice of shoofly pie (is it really a Dutch treat?).
Have a great weekend!

First of all, congrats to Angel, who came
off the bench in the second half for Blanco,
and did an excellent job, with a goal being waved off. Shame. It was a hell of a finish. But the All Star Game isn’t the only thing on Juanpies mind! ...
- La Prensa Honduras says he has passed the test - and George Welcome will inevitabley play in Major League Soccer (I know this hasnt been reported this side of the Mexican border, but its coming straight from the horses mouth here).
Now, the question remains, for which team?
Of course, New England owns the developmental rights to George Welcome, as the young Honduran forward trialed ...

Another exciting game tonite at Giants Stadium in front of a boistorous crowd of nearly 47 thousand tonight, as Landon Donovan manages to find the back of the net near extra time to steal a point away from the Bulls.
Down 1-0 early, the Bulls desperately fought back. Dave Van Den Bergh buried a back heal pass from Jorge Rojas. In the second half, after minutes had gone by without an RB ...

Red Bulls Reader gives word that Vinotinto great Jorge Rojas and the Argentine destroyer, Juan Pietravallo , will be eligible for some solid minutes against Beckham and his Galaxy squad. This is excellent news for the team, which has struggled to secure its midfield play since Reyna went down earlier in the season, and hasn’t been able to find the creativity to put the ball in the back ...

No shocker at all, but Coach Nowak announced his Olympic roster, including the likes of Jozy Altidore, Brian McBride, Freddy Adu, Brad Guzan and Michael Parkhurst. The Offside took part in the press conference this afternoon, with your humble blogger as your representative. Great stuff.
First off, great stuff for Jozy Altidore, as he continues to make his stock rise. But I must admit, I ...

He was a laughing stock, awkward, enigmatic, inconsistent, a full of potential but far from reaching it kind of a player. Now? He’s got his own T-shirt.
Hat trick Buddle? Who saw this coming?

There was a Claudio Reyna before the Red Bulls - and that is the Reyna that I and the rest of the world will remember forever. Feel how you may, but no one can take away the accomplishments of Captain America.
He was a pioneer for United States soccer. Following the “Golden Era” of American Soccer from 1990-1995, Reyna was one of the first youngsters to emerge as a steady ...

Questions abound regarding that Reyna DP slot. Do we own it? Will we use it?
Ives is clarifying things , as always. The Bulls won’t be using the DP slot this season - mainly due to salary cap constraints. But they plan on using it on a marquee player for the opening of Harrison next summer.
So don’t fret - that DP slot isn’t going anywhere - its just taking a nap till ...

I am in shock. Seriously. I mean, we
all expected Reyna to pull a “Djorkaeff” and simply
fade into the history books. This is something else all together. I have to credit ESPN with this gem. Though Ives also says he was the first to ...
Thinking back on last years epic encounter, and
awaiting this years confrontation, one has to be astounded
by the difference a year has made. Here are a couple of things that stick out most for me: 1) The Bulls are trying to avoid the ...
+ Jorge Rojas is in camp with the team, as are Pietravallo, Cichero and Jimenez . All would like this weekends Galaxy game to be their debut, but none can be confirmed. I guess they have 4 days of training to prove their worth.
+ George Welcome is in camp as well. Yup, my spanish media sources proved to be true, even as Coach Osorio denied it to the NY Post. Welcome has a discovery claim ...

He’s Back!
Last years attraction of the year is coming back for seconds, looking to recreate magic this Saturday as David Beckham and his LA Galaxy visit the Red Bulls at home. Though noticabley more subdued than last years event, this years game has already sold close to 50,000 tickets without any real media hype and advertising. Maybe some impromptu TV spots will help sell the ...

So this theory has gone from a comical hypothetical to a head slapping reality: Every Bulls loss seems to result in some International signing.
This weeks band aid is Gabriel Cichero. Cichero will be with us through the end of the year, and has an option year for 2009. ABN in Bolivia broke the story yesterday. Cichero is a Venezuelan National Team member, playing over 10 games with the ...

Stop me if you have heard this one before.
The Bulls open the first half, and 4 minutes in, Jimmy Conrad, Red Bull Killer, scores.
The Bulls open the second half, and 2 minutes in, Davy Arnaud buries one. 2-0.
The Bulls score one goal, as has been the trend: the last ten games, they have scored one goal or less. And of course, Juan Pablo Angel was the person to put it in. 2-1
Again, ...

Beneath all the recent excitement from the fans about the new signings lies the tremors of Red Bull players, quaking in their boots. Paycuts are on their way. Jobs may very well be lost. And everyone knows it.
Its in this vain that I would like to present to your our first overhaul victim: Sinisa Ubiparipovic. Sinisa, a second year player whom, as of late, has showed great growth on the ...

Bobby Abreu and Jorge Rojas. Together.
Had they known I was at the Stadium too, they would have definitely called me over. For sure. Right?
In hard news, they are reporting that, if all goes well, Rojas should be training with the team next week, and is aiming at a Los Angeles debut.
Venezuela is loving it.
About the Yankees game: I get these box seats, beneath the top tier, away ...
