The weekend of MLS Cup promises to be
the social soccer event of the year. The Screaming
Eagles have a ton of stuff planned , but if you're not heading down to RFK for the 2007 Supporter's Cup , we hope you'll consider hanging with Bruce from Du Nord ...
With D.C. United eliminated, the uncomfortable specter of
seeing an MLS Cup played in RFK without our
team present is now an inevitability. While such situations may be socially awkward, it is not a scenario that people of good breeding should find ...
Yesterday's post on the salary cap implications of
adding Veron to the roster inspired some great comments,
and Skippy summarized the reaction like this : "Wow. I think you turned everyone sour on Veron with a single post." That was not my intent, ...

Here at DCenters, we like to make our
reader's lives easy at every chance we get, particularly
after elimination from an international tournament for the second year in a row. Below, pleased to be finding a pre-compiled list of excuses to help ...
A few scattershot links before I reach my
main point. First, it's going to rain tonight .
We play better in the rain, except for those times we don't. Second, Commenter Bootsy sent us this link to Charles Boehm's blog, in which there might be some ...

The news of Josh Gros considering retirement is
melancholy in the extreme. I think everyone would respect
his decision, no matter what, is a given. I would be happy to see him back, but he must put his health first and foremost. Josh Gros played a ...

Before we get back into the wallowing paranoia
that the season's start has given us ahead of
Thursday's game against New England, I thought I would try and have a little fun. It is "A Year of Shakespeare" in DC, and in an attempt to do my part for ...

I'd like to share a crazy, hair-brained opinion
on what I think may be the biggest threat
to the continued development of US Soccer: The Wii. Video games are important to the context of modern soccer, and to sports in America. Many a US based fan ...

The DCenters: I think I warned about DC
United dropping points in this match, and certainly United
seemed to play around with the idea. RSL was easily the better team through 40 minutes, and United was on their heels. Even in the second half, RSL was still threatening around the box at times. This game, even as late as the 70th minute, could have gone in any direction.
The DCenters: The news in the major papers
is tonight's match against Chivas of Guadalajara in the
Copa Sudamericana. The buzz is emphasizing the fact that there is that United is carrying something of a grudge against the Real Goats.

C.F. DC United Eliminated from CONCACAF Champion's Cup That

The DCenters got a few minutes with new
D.C. United keeper Jay Nolly over the phone while
he's training in Florida. Questions from Kinney, Oscar, and myself in plain text, and Jay's answers are in bold. We were curious about how he felt suddenly...
From the article: Chivas proved two things over
the course of the game I just saw. First,
they were the better team over ninety minutes. Second, they have no class.
PRET? ALLEZ! : First, Oscar put up our
match preview last night, and it is the essential
document for getting you ready for tonight. Honestly, I have no idea if United will fair well or poorly tonight (so much will depend on how well Chivas can ...

GUADALAJARA D.C. UNITED ELIMINATED IN SEMI-FINAL OF 2007 CONCACAF
CHAMPIONS CUP Honestly? Better than I expected. Worse than I hoped. There may be talk of blame after this game, but I think it's unnecessary. Or if ...

Okay, so let's say that of the 45,000
people that went to see the game, 20,000 were
there for Beckham. I think it's safe to assume that at least 25,000 were casual United fans to begin with who also came out for this one. Fair? Good. Let's talk about ...
