When we originally drafted offensive lineman Jeremy Zuttah in the 3rd round of this past NFL draft, I was a little perplexed. Not that I am opposed to taking taking offensive lineman or anything, but we had used a 1st, and 3rd round pick in the 2007 NFL Draft, and were now using a 3rd round pick in the 2008 NFL Draft on what seemed to me to be, because of the players already on the ...

I have been flying all day today, so I apologize for the lack of a post after our impressive win (albeit a preseason joint) vs the Pats. There are a few main things that stuck out in my mind.
On a personal note, it was great to be back in RayJay last night. I had to get up early this morning and fly, but tailgating with all of our friends from the last few seasons, as well as seeing ...

As I predicted in my 53 man roster prediction, the Bucs have released LT Luke Petigout after he failed a physical. I think the Bucs were giving him one last chance to see if he could play with that rickety ass old body, and the failing of the physical confirmed it, he can’t. We signed some FB who won’t be on the roster in 2 and a half weeks.

The Buccaneers have always held a close affiliation with Macdill Airforce Base, and this year it appears to be no different. I know that one of my favorite things about gameday is the flyby that occurs right after the national anthem. The base is only about 15 miles south of the stadium for those of you not familiar with the Tampa area. Each game those personell that were involved in the ...

You ever had the hypothetical question asked of you, if you could hang out/go out to dinner with 5 people, who would they be. Well here are two of my 5. Love it. Gruden looks beside himself!

Tiger Woods visited the Bucs Monday at the team hotel in Celebration, Orlando. I’ll let the players do the talking.
DEFENSIVE BACKS COACH RAHEEM MORRIS
“As NFL guys, we don’t get star-struck much, but when you get a Tiger Woods come in who is the best at what he does, it’s unbelievable. If you can pick his brain a little bit, which I know Ronde did and some of ...

I’m trying to let the Brett Favre drama go, but QB Jeff Garcia yesterday had quite the condascending remark during an interview.
“I’m just a journeyman according to some people; why should I have any hard feelings? I’m thankful to have this job. I might pay Bruce and Jon for bringing me out here”, Garcia said…What am I going to say? It’s the unfortunate part of ...

After spending much of last week, downplaying the Bucs interest in QB Brett Favre , General Manager Bruce Allen finally decided to clear the air yesterday on the Bucs involvement in the Favre drama. I personally thought Allen’s comments last week were classic, a blatent lie to the majority of our local Bay Area media jokers as well as a ton of national media. The idea behind his lie ...

In a highly anticipated event last night, 16 members of the Fan-Sided blogosphere got together for our very first fantasy football draft. There were many trades leading up to the draft, but only one involving the team representing the Pewter Plank. We sent the 8th and 72nd picks to our friend from PhinPhanatic in return for the 2nd pick of the draft and their 7th round pick, number ...

Let’s first start with the opening preseason game for the Bucs. A few starters did not play, which is to be expected with minor injuries and the general tendency of Jon Gruden to not overwork the starters in the preseason.
The one image that keeps popping up in my head is the drop by WR Michael Clayton . He has been impressive thus far in camp, but he if continues to drop ...

While there has been no definitive word on what the Bucs offered for QB Brett Favre , the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that the Bucs offered up QB Chris Simms and a 4th round choice in 2010 that would have only been applied had Favre played not only this season, but next season as well. Based on this information, it is apparent why the Pack went with the Jets offer.

I finally have gathered up enough willpower to write an article after the debacle that was the Brett Favre situation. I have a few things to say about this first before I give you some links and some commentary. I think we put ourselves in a bad spot in the last week. If Allen and Gruden (which anyone that reads this site, knows that I love both these men) really wanted to get Favre, we ...

By the way…I love Bruce Allen .
Q: How extensive were the talks with the Green Bay Packers?
A: I wouldn’t classify it as extensive at all. He may have talked to, from what it sound like, every team in the league. By reading all your stuff from the people covering it closely, it’s clear they didn’t want to send him to any team in the NFC.
Q: You had no negotiations whatsoever about ...

“When you’re the coach and you’re a quarterback in this league, there is speculation about you, there’s speculation about me, there’s speculation about all of us. Our number one objective is to win and we’ll do anything we can to get the best football team we can. That’s all I can say. That’s something that will not change. We ...

The Clarion-Ledger of Jackson, Miss. quoted Cook as saying,
“Brett’s ready to go play. It looks like it’s going to be New York or Tampa Bay. We’re waiting to find out and we could learn in the next hour or so.”
This interview occured at 11:35 this morning.

“I got a lot of phone calls. I got a lot of messages on my cell phone. There’s a lot of speculation out there. I don’t want to fuel any reports ,” Gruden said. “I’ll talk to [G.M.] Bruce Allen. He’s not here. He’s in New York for a league meeting. There is a labor meeting there. Bruce is the guy you need to talk to. I’ve obviously been working with our football team and that’s ...

From Lombardi Ave :
Chris Mortensen just reported on Sportscenter Now that Brett Favre will most likely talk with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today to talk about the possibility of a trade. This is starting to look like the Packers are forcing Brett to be traded rather than be released. Since the Packers were willing to give Favre $25 million to stay home they probably wouldn’t have an ...
