more about the 4 prospects the Pirates received in
the Jason Bay/Manny Ramirez 3-way-deal. Note... there aren't enough scouting reports out there on the Dodger prospects... so I had to stick with ArmchairGM and Brewersfan.net. This deal was received a lot better by the media than the Yankees one... I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

So, I came across the PFW/CFN (I think it was them) college football preview magazine yesterday. In it, the Utes are ranked #28, and BYU #21 (or 19 or something). They predict both teams to finish with 2 losses… Utah at New Mexico and at Wyoming, and BYU at TCU and at Utah. Just FYI.

more about the Pirates haul from the X-Man &
Marte for prospects trade. And if one game is any way to measure it, the scouting report for Jeff Karstens nails it on the head.
UPDATE: It seems as if the deal has changed . Phil Coke & George Kontos have been replaced in the deal by Dan McCutchen & Jeff Karstens . I guess this won’t be my “final thoughts” on the deal after all.

The Pirates played 1 inning today before pulling X-Man . That signaled something. And a trade it was. But as soon as that happened, most of the attention on the game was lost. Where was X-Man going?
