This will probably be the last full updated
player movement until either this summer or the fall
after the season. Hard to believe that we are less than a week away from the start of the 2008 season. I figured today since there hadn’t been any ...
Some of the year-end awards were announced on
Halloween. No tricks, only treats here. Best choices, and
obvious ones today, for anyone who's followed the league this year. Also see the BallHype posts here on Luciano Emilio and his Golden Boot. Very deserving as well.
WV Hooligan: Sources tell me that San Jose
has made another deal today sending a forth-round draft
pick in next year’s SuperDraft to Chivas USA for keeper Preston Burpo. Honestly a smart deal for the Quakes as Burpo has some starting experience and should be able to see plenty of playing time in San Jose between the pipes.
Yes I will admit I stayed up in
the late hours to watch a little preseason soccer
on the internet telly. I watched enough of the Dynamo game to get a sense that Houston will still be fine even though they played a club that was on the way out of ...
It looks as though I may have to
change my image at the top of the page
next season if this comes true. Apparently the topic of discussion this afternoon surrounds Mr. Landon Donovan and who he will play for next season. Its no secret about the ...
WV Hooligan: Next year we all get San
Jose back into the MLS and as of today
we will have Seattle starting in 2009. Also, we all know the league wants 16 clubs by the 2010 season. Moreso meaning that I doubt Seattle will be walking into the league alone...
I thought it was a good day as
any to show some updates of the new stadium
out in Salt Lake. I have to say until Red Bull Park opens up this may be my favorite stadium. More actual news and thoughts coming later on today…this should get us ...
As promised, another season preview as we continue
to countdown until the first kickoff of the new
season later this month. Today we focus on the Colorado Rapids. 2007 Record and Finish: 9-13-8, 35 pts., 10th overall, 4th in the west, missed the ...
Few weeks to go and the awards races
are as hot as the playoff race itself. Last
week’s discussion brought a lot of talk and this week should be no different. As always feel free to post you thoughts on the awards and who you think should and will win. - Coach of the Year - Preki, Chivas USA (level) - Still only a total collapse from this club would kill his chances of winning this award this ...
I love this time of year due to
the predictions, previews, and other random things going into
a new season. Yesterday I began work on some of my watch lists with an update to the Coaching Hot Seat. Today I will go a little more into that list and ...
The MLS has announced who will be playing
who in the opening weekend of the 2008 season
on March 29. *The first match-up that stands out is a re-match of the MLS Cup between Houston at New England. Along with that game on the “First Kick” weekend that will include all 14 teams.*Other games on March 29 will include Toronto at Columbus, Chicago at Real Salt Lake, D.C. United at Kansas City.
Sure the city has been in the league
before and is on Don Garber’s short-list of possible
expansion cities but does the league want to go back there? Maybe if the city gets a soccer stadium. Reports out of South Beach say that once the city ...
Looks as though the Troy Perkins ship is
about to sail to Norway. All that stands in
the way is some pending physicals and signing some paper work. The money side of this will come about once the transfer is complete. Perkin’s new club in ...
Lots of talk yesterday about the new new
continental club championship, the CONCACAF Champions League which will
kick up this August and last until next April. The new Champions League will replace the current club competition, the Champions’ ...
Like I said yesterday, week number two was
very interesting but not quite a turning point just
yet here in the MLS. Still loads of soccer to be played here so we can’t be too quick to judge these clubs for how they are playing. We know that the ...
WHooligan: plenty of good games this weekend. Six
to be exact really, four tomorrow and two on
Sunday. Both games on Sunday really have a lot of interest in my mind and could very well shape up a lot in the playoff picture. Every game will have some sort of impact on the playoff race...
Celtic striker Maciej Zurawski could soon clinch a
move to the Los Angeles Galaxy sources say. The
seldom used striker says he wouldn’t mind working along side David Beckham. A possible deal could come soon as the Polish caption is serious ...
Looks as though DC is not in the
cards for Pablo Mastroeni now...

February 15 --- WV Hooligan: The LA Galaxy’s
latest attempt to address their defensive problems are now
in the shoes of Greg Vanney. --- The club dealt for Vanney’s player rights today from DC United. --- The news of the Galaxy trading for Vanney doesn’t surprise many after the recent retirement of defender Ty Harden...
