In those other 6 games in which Schilling did not receive a decision; his team was still 3-3. In those 6 games Schill pitched 8, 8, 7, 7.1, 7 and 4.2 innings respectively. In actuality 5 of the 6 no decisions were quality starts. Congrats on a great career and I still look forward to reading 38 Pitches and hearing you on Boston sports radio.

Breaking News: Kendrick Cut, Schilling Retires!
Published 3/23/2009 by Bill@myteamrivals.com (MyTeamRivals.com) at Phightin' Phils Phorum
Kyle Kendrick came into camp as the favorite to be the team's number 5 starter. He left today for minor league camp as he was cut from the big league roster. Kendrick had a decent start in his last appearance but his over numbers (1-3 9.20 ERA) put him far enough behind Chan Ho Park and J.A. Happ that the Phillies felt he was not going to win the job. Joining Kendrick is Lou Marson and Brad Harmon. In other news, former Philadelphia Phillies pitcher Curt Schilling announced his retirement on his web site 38 Pitches. Schilling wrote, "This party has officially ended. After being blessed to experience 23 ...

Schilling Hangs Up His Cleats

According to a pretty good source, former Red Sox pitcher Curt Schilling has decided to retire from baseball. You had to figure it was a strong possibility given how the past year has gone for #38, but the news still creates a stir of emotions and memories.  For brief period between 2004 and 2005, Schilling was easily the most worshiped figure in New England (even more so than that 2,000-year-old bearded dude).  Although he’s become more of a polarizing figure of late, he’s still a revered icon for the most part.  Rightfully so, I’d say. So, the big question we now ask ourselves is: ...
