The Best Fantasy Player And Fantasy Football Sleeper: Kansas City Chiefs
Published 45 hours ago by faketeams at FakeTeams: Front Page Posts
Chris from Arrowhead Pride brings some fantasy football tips from the Kansas City Chiefs:
The Kansas City Chiefs will again have a killer fantasy season with Trent Green, Priest Holmes and Dante Hall all putting up big numbers yet again.
Wait a second. What year is this? 2008? Wow, for some reason when I thought of the Kansas City Chiefs and fantasy football my mind only remembers through the 2003 season. Oh well. I'll do my best to update you on this year's squad. ...

Well, the Chiefs are tops in the league in one category at least - Player Development. The NFL announced that the Chiefs crew headed up by Executive Director Lamonte Winston have received top honors for their player development program and that the Chiefs have set the bar high with the way they educate their players about real-life issues such as finance, continuing education, and career development. Congrats to Mr. Wilson for the high praise.

The Kansas City Chiefs Suck and That’s a Good Thing

... 2008. We had bought into the Chiefs’ massive rebuild. We knew it was going to take time. As the offseason dragged on, Chiefs’ fans were immersed with bad information, which is one of the things that absolutely frustrates, bothers, irks, and annoys me about the Kansas City media. They are so busy feeding fans glorifying stories about players that they don’t tell the fans the hard truth that they need to hear. Thank goodness for the KC blogosphere–some of the outstanding fan blogs like Arrowhead Pride or ...

K-State/Iowa State to Arrowhead?
Published 9 days ago by TB at Bring On The Cats: Front Page Posts
... On top of that, I'm assuming this means K-State will be giving up a home conference game in the near future. I know that Arrowhead has (a lot) more seats than Bill's House, but there's no guarantee we'll sell as many tickets in Arrowhead as we would at a home game. In fact, there's at least a decent chance won't make as much money on this, unless the Kansas City Chiefs are guaranteeing us some minimum payout. And all that says nothing of the the Manhattan businesses who are certain to be monumentally pissed off about losing a weekend of Wildcat ...

... If you paid any attention to the draft, you know that most people thought the Chiefs stole the show. It didn't hurt their case that they had a kajillion draft picks. The one that got the attention of the blathering heads was Dorsey - a phenomenon we remember well when he was on the sideline in Atlanta and the announcers stopped following the game to watch him limp. In fact, when he was drafted, the fanatics over at ...

... Not so fast. Welbourn would have cost the Chiefs $2M this year, a contract he was under-performing in '07. He served 2 suspensions for violating the league's steroid policy, one in '05 and one in '06. He "retired" for the '06 benching but made a comeback -- sort of. Definitely in his twilight years at the start of the season last year, the poor performance of the Chiefs right side over the course of the year earned him a ticket out. Our friends at Arrowhead Pride labeled that line "the worst in franchise history." ...
A.A.D.Q.: Nicknaming Brodie
Published 25 days ago by Adam at Arrowhead Addict | A Kansas City Chiefs Sports Blog
... This isn’t going to be the most original post, considering that Arrowhead Pride has already given this a whirl once. I’m not necessarily the biggest Brodie Croyle believer, but being impartial and giving everybody a shot at nicknaming a Chiefs player who’s obviously becoming extremely popular is the right thing to do. Remember, I do actually like the kid and am pulling for him, even if I’m not gaga over his chances. ...

Peyton Manning's Greatest Games - #6
Published 6/26/2008 by mgrex03 at Stampede Blue: Front Page Posts
... Game #6 takes us back to January 11, 2004, where the #3 seed Colts traveled to Kansas City to take on the 13-3 Chiefs, led by my fantasy football workhorse, Priest Holmes. Peyton Manning had just won his first Playoff game the week before, and (again), nobody was giving him and the Colts any chance to win out in the elements. Manning decided he'd have one of the best games of his career.
(As an aside real quick, I'm really glad the Colts switched from the blue facemask to the grey one they wear today. It just ...

... out of the backfield. If we project James to get about 1,400 yards from scrimmage during 2008, he would jump to 10th on the all-time list, and just inches (well actually 26 yards) from the former Cowboy, Tony Dorsett, in ninth. If we look past the 2009 season and project another 1,100 yards, Edge would then rank eighth all time, less than 100 yards behind former Jet and Patriot, Curtis Martin. He'd also be less than 300 yards behind former Raider and Chief Marcus Allen for 6th all-time.

Has Troubled Joe Phillips Resurfaced Online? [Weird Scenes Inside The Gold Mine]
Published 5/14/2008 by DAULERIO at Deadspin
Most of us not in the Kansas City-area probably heard first about former Chiefs' defensive lineman Joe Phillips' troubles through the fascinating HBO Real Sports segment from last January titled "Family Burden." The story focused on a handful of wives of ex-NFL players going through hard times physically, financially and emotionally. Phillips' ex-wife Cynthia was featured prominently in the piece and she painted a very scary picture of the former popular defensive lineman. In the story, HBO suggested that Phillips was on the lam in Oregon on a DUI charge and was nowhere to be found. Apparently, he's out of ...
