Random Steelers Musings From the Bye Week
Published 3 days ago by cgolden at Behind the Steel Curtain: Front Page Posts
... B-More - Poor, poor Ravens. Remember two weeks ago when they were undefeated and excited about the opportunity to come into the big Ketchup bottle and prove their legitimacy to the Steelers? Well fast forward ten days and they're sitting .500 after two close losses (by a combined six points), but considering the opponents (9-1 combined record) they're certainly not pushing any panic buttons right? Not so fast, some fans are already calling rookie head coach ...

2008 NFL Blogger Deathsport: Weekly Picks and Open Thread
Published 6 days ago by River City Rage at Big Cat Country: Front Page Posts
... "Blogger Deathsport", I am in an astouding 2nd place overall. Considering how little I understand of NFL betting (spread, points, etc), this is proof that dumb luck is better than smarts. Here are my picks, highlighted in bold for extra emphasis.  This post is also our early games open thread, as our Jaguars have an awfully long time before their game.  Remember to root for the Houston Texans to beat the Indianapolis Colts.  Also, rooting for Baltimore to beat the Titans would be nice as well, but not as effective for helping the ...

Browns Can Gain Ground During Bye
Published 8 days ago by ChrisPokorny at Dawgs By Nature: Front Page Posts
... Many people are picking the Ravens to hand the Titans their first loss of the season. That's a possibility, because as well as Tennessee has played, I still question their offensive potential against a high-profiled defense. Nonetheless, the Ravens should ultimately be considered underdogs against a team with a perfect 4-0 record. ...

Yah so what have you done for the Redskins lately?
Published 11 days ago by Skin Patrol at Hogs Haven: Front Page Posts
... you done for me lately? Redskins opened as 5 point underewoks to the Philly Eagles, so we've got that going for us. The Bears are acting like king killers right now though I guess that depends in large part on how good the Colts really are. MAKE NO MISTAKE: The Eagles are going to be a difficult team to beat. We will not be expected to win. But neither were the Ewoks. (Also, good job Bears, anything that keeps the Eagles down is good for the Redskins in the long run.) Baltimore Ravens 20, Pittsburgh Steelers 23 Huge win for the Steelers. What you ...

Each week we try to get the opposing team's SB Nation blogger to answer a few of our questions about that week's game; though we didn't get a chance to with Rexx last week (I was impossibly busy that week which prompted the idea of adding a second author to the site), which I'm sure we'll connect next time around; though Rexx is gracious enough to tell us how good the Ravens are well after the game has already finished. American Football Conference North (4) Pittsburgh - Their schedule is absolutely freaking brutal. . .but I think if any coach has the temperment to guide his team through it, it's Mike Tomlin. Cleveland - Everyone's chic pick, but I'm not totally sold yet.  Are we getting the Derek Anderson from the first part of 2007. . .or the last part, where he was pretty bad? Baltimore - Joe Flacco is getting thrown into the fire right away.  I can't wait to see ...

Preview - St. Louis Rams vs. Baltimore Ravens

... There's a silver lining in that the Ravens' defense hasn't looked especially noteworthy in preseason action thus far. Last week against the Vikings (and Gus Frerotte) they played without both starting cornerbacks and super safety Ed Reed. Stabbin' Ray Lewis played for just two drives. The Ravens have allowed 206 passing yards and 2 TDs against the Vikes last week. The  ...

... point, I'm glad McNair is retired because it was obvious he was done. I don't want lingering injury to last throughout the rest of his life. From a football stand point, McNair was highly over-rated and waaaaaaaaay over-hyped. If anyone suggests HoF for this guy, they will get a swift backhand from me (and just about everyone else). Yes, that includes you Gus Johnson. McNair finishes his career with 31,304 yards, 174 TDs, and 119 INTs. Check out Music City Miracles and Baltimore Beatdown for more posts on McNair's retirement.
