... The injury means that he's pretty much certain to miss Saturday's game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, which is crappy because the third game is generally the game where the starters get the most playing time and is generally their last real action prior to the start of the regular season, as the final pre-season game against ...

Eagles v Steelers Preseason Game #1 Preview
Published 13 days ago by JasonB at Bleeding Green Nation: Front Page Posts
... As with all preseason games, this one doesn't count. There's little to no game planning, the starters for each team will only see limited action... there's really not a whole lot to preview here, so I caught up with Blitzburgh who runs the fine Steelers site Behind the Steel Curtain to get a little insight on what's been up in Steel country and find about some of the names we should watch for this evening. ...

Ah the trap game we always love to lose. Coming off a disappointing loss to Indy and facing an underwhelming Houston team is the usual hallmark of a Jaguars loss. However, if we are to be a serious contender, we need this win.

The Eagles are treating Wilson as a full time tight end, which means he should get more production. I don't know. Maybe he'll get more production. Never was a big fan of Bigfoot. Ah, I wish him well and hope Philly makes him happier than Kansas City did.
There is no news on Jimmy Wilkerson or Keyaron Fox. So check out Buc 'Em and Behind the Steel Curtain for what little coverage actually exists on these guys.

Well John Madden is wrong.

... What's important is that I don't recall a damn thing about the game besides the fact that John Madden was really on his game that day, talking absolute nonsense about anything and everything. I was watching the game with a close friend of mine, and we were both enamored of the fact that Madden was pretty much unwilling to discuss anything football related (or at least that's what memory tells me). And it went on, and on, and on (it was long enough ago that he must've been with Pat Sumerall; that twofer remains to this day my favorite broadcast crew). It was on Fox, because I ...

... your memories of the Steelers start with Terry Bradshaw and Mean Joe Greene, or especially if they begin with Bill Cowher, then here's a video worth checking out. It does a good job of explaining what the Steelers were like in the 1940s, which included a wartime stint as the Steagles (combined with the Eagles). And Jock Sutherland was the team's only truly excellent coach before Chuck Noll arrived. Hat Tip: Behind The Steel Curtain Permalink | Email this ...

Draft Notes

... Steelers coaches say they drafted him as a QB, but this gives both sides some insurance. If they don't think he'll be a QB long term, or if he doesn't see any PT at QB, then they can see how he does at another position. Pittsburgh has Ben Rothlisberger, and I don't expcect to see Dennis under center this season unless Big Ben gets hurt, but you have to think that they could have some trick plays in their package. They've done it before. For more info, look at Behind the Steel Curtain. ...

....the Pittsburgh Steelers represented by zackmann select.... Branden Albert, OG, Virginia The Steelers great offensive line from years ago has lost Jeff Hartings and Alan Faneca. Branden Albert is a 1st round talent and probably is rated higher than the best available DE/LB (another possible need for the Steelers). This seems like an easy pick. I think he is the #1 rated guard in the draft according to Scout.com.
