Cross-Pollination: An Email Exchange With Both Teams Played Hard
Published 3/25/2009 at Talk Hoops - Support the Habit
When it comes to running a basketball site and competing with hundreds of other reputable and legit websites around the internet, you have to find your own unique voice to give your opinion on the league. You have to find a different way of not only viewing the world but figuring out how to get people interested in what you're saying. And now that the Twitter world has infiltrated sports blogging and putting guys like Shaquille O'Neal and Charlie Villanueva just a 140-character touch away, being clever, funny, and pithy has never been more valuable. And I can't think of anyone who embodies that persona on the internet right ...

Both Teams Played Hard Interview
Published 1/21/2009 at The Nugg Doctor - A Denver Nuggets Blog
(Boulder-CO) A couple of weeks back I had a back-and-forth with a confused, and rather new, fan of the Denver Nuggets. His name is Jared Wade and he runs Both Teams Played Hard. After letting him know that he wasn't alone within the confusion, as most of us in the Nuggets Nation are all little bit bewildered from time to time, we talked shop on a few topics.
He also brought in Andrew Feinstein of Denver Stiffs to help him understand the Nuggets more. The similarities between Andrew's and my thoughts on the Nuggets are striking while the differences make me want to have a beer with him sometime and ...

Kevin Pelton Chops Down The Coaching Trees, Cannot Lie About It, Gets Wooden Teeth, Beats British, Founds America, Puts Face on Currency
Published 11/22/2008 by Wade at Both Teams Played Hard
Per usual, Kevin Pelton absolutely kills it on the knowledge tip with this thorough-as-hell breakdown of coaching lineages. Essentially, it’s a look at who spawned who (whom?) in the coaching ranks, complete with the actual breakdown of who (whom?) served as assistants for whom (who?) and an analysis of the coaching styles propagated by the patriarch.
Here’s the “Dean Smith Coaching Tree” section, for example, which is just a meager sampling from this utter beast of hoopology academia.

European basketball in just ONE word
Published 1/25/2008 by Tobias at Ball in Europe - European Basketball Blog
I am very fortunate to be on an email list with the best bloggers in the US. From time to time a person has an issue and it will be discussed within that group. Maybe this email list will one day develop into a basketball blogger summit - who knows. The other day I thought: “I really wonder what all these great bloggers really think of ‘Ball in Europe’” so I just asked them. I never expected such a huge response and I am really thankful for every single word that was sent to me. Well, I asked those guys to describe basketball in Europe with just one word. Here is every single word I got so far. Careful - you probably ...
