Published 16 days ago by Truth About It (noreply@blogger.com) at truthaboutit.net

More Free Agent News: Gilbert Arenas, Corey Maggette, Gerald Green

... 1. In my earlier post about Gilbert Arenas I forgot to link to Bullets Forever. My bad. I always enjoy Pradamaster's work and they're all over Washington's free agent moves.
2. Earlier today I argued that Corey Maggette would not sign in Boston because he would go for a bigger pay day. I was wrong. He appears to be leaning towards San Antonio for the full MLE. Still I'd argue that he's a much better fit with the Spurs than the Celtics. He gives that offense and added dimension with his ability to get to the line. I am intrigued.

... the season, we were already calling for everyone’s head. Eight games into the year, its best player went out for virtually the entire season. In the middle of the season, when it had finally found a formula for success, it’s new star went out for 24 games. Then, at the end of the season, faced with a difficult schedule and the prospect of having to reincorporate everyone, it still pushed hard to the postseason, taking head on the challenge of facing the team that always beats them.” [ Bullets Forever ]“Some may wonder why it took so long for ...

Now, believe it or not, back before you kids had the ANBCBSPNNFOX sports network that you have today, there was this amazing network called TNT — where they had crappy original shows but for unexplained reasons, their NBA coverage surpasses every single sports show about any sports.

... Darius Songalia did not punch Lebron either even though on TNT's angle it appears that way. I was watching the local DC Comcast and they had another camera angle, which it clearly shows Lebron's arm was hooked inside Darius' arm. Lebron pulled his arm out, causing Darius's hand to fly towards him. I hope the NBA sees the real angle and does not rely solely on TNT's shot for future punishment. ...

Ladies and gentlemen, after six months, thousands of posts, and the most insane trade season ever, we're finally ready to announce the winners of the 2008 Hardwood Paroxysm Bloggers Season Awards. After the nominations, and the vote announcement, we had a great response. We had 40 of the top NBA bloggers vote for the Bloggers' Choice, and almost 2000 votes for the Readers' Choice awards. Before we announce the winners, it's important to explain the reason for this whole thing. The NBA has an astounding number of angles that can be taken to write about it. From ...

After winning 42 and 41 games in the past two years respectively, the Wizards are on track to finish in that same range again this season. You can't really fault their performance as mediocre this year though, after losing their top player (Arenas) a couple weeks into the season and still finding themselves comfortably in the playoffs.
